Wear a Seatbelt

Wearing a seatbelt is one of the most important things you can do in a car.

Imagine standing on a skateboard while it rolls forward. If the skateboard suddenly hits a crack and stops, what happens? You keep moving forward, just as fast as the skateboard was going. That’s exactly what happens in a car when it stops quickly—if you’re not wearing a seatbelt, you could fly forward and get hurt.

Seatbelts keep us safe by holding us in place when the car stops or turns suddenly. They help protect us from hitting the dashboard, the seat in front of us, or even each other.
